The Study of Women’s Role and Characteristics in “Mahboob ol Gholoob” Written by Mirzabarkhordar Ebn Mahmod Torkaman Farahi

Abstract

    Among classic prose from Safavi era “Mahboob Ol Gholoob” is more significant and is known as “beautiful and tall” or " Sun and laugh". In this artwork, woman has a significant role so its sociological aspect increases. This paper uses analysis- descriptive method with the documentary tool. After studying 1336 issues of Mahboob Ol Gholoob” and extracting cases in which women have expected role, findings have been classified according to characteristic definition. In half of anecdotes (83 ones) in this book, women have major or minor, positive or negative and opposite or confident role. Totally, women play a positive role in 19 anecdotes and a negative role in 20 anecdotes. Therefor this work consists of both positive and negative aspects of women’s characteristics.
