Abstract

The purpose of this study was defining the mediating role of psychological well-being in social capital and self-efficacy of female teachers in the city of Sarbaz. Survey-correlational research method was applied in this study. The statistical population included female teachers of Sarbaz city and 169 women were selected through Cochran sample size formula and multistage cluster sampling. Ryff scales of psychological well-being (1989), Adams and Sherer self-efficacy scale (1982) and Sahami social capital scale (2008) were administered to collect data. Then data were analyzed by means of Pearson correlation coefficient, multivariate regression and Barron and Kenny path analysis. According to the results of Pearson correlation, self-efficacy developed a significant and positive relationship with social capital and its factors except family trust. In addition, self-efficacy had a significant and positive relationship with psychological well-being and its factors. The findings of path analysis indicated that political trust and social network may affect self-efficacy straightly and psychological well-being mediated social capital and self-efficacy. However, family trust and social coordination had no significant impact on self-efficacy and political trust was the only affecting factor of social capital on psychological well-being.
