Comparison of intensity of mental pressure and matrimony satisfaction in trainable mentally retarded children´s mothers with normal children´s mothers.

Abstract

The aim of this survey is comparison of intensity of mental pressure and matrimony satisfaction in trainable mentally retarded children´s mothers and normal children´s mothers . Research method is comparative. Samples include two groups of mothers of trainable mentally retarded children and normal children. They are selected by random sampling  method from two rehabilitation centers and from normal schools in shiraz.  In order to do this survey, peykle´s mental pressure questionaire and Inrich´s matrimony satisfaction is applied.The data analyzed by SPSS and using  independent t test and pearson´s correlation. The results of this study show that  Mothers of trainable mentally retarded children experience more mental pressure than normal children´s mothers (p=0/01). They have less matrimony satisfaction than normal children´s mothers (p=0/01). There is a significant relationship between mental pressure and matrimony satisfaction of trainable mentally retarded children´s  mothers (r=-0/83).
