The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of Fordyce Happiness training on students’ coping strategies, Quality of life and optimism. In this pretest-posttest nonequivalent, group design in company with follow up stage, 40 students from Islamic Azad university central branch in experimental and control groups responded to the Quality of life, life orientation test and Lazarus ways of coping Questionnaire. The experimental group received eight Fordyce Happiness training sessions (2 hours for each session). The results of covariance analysis indicated that Fordyce program was effective in increasing quality of life, optimism and problem-focused strategies in short term and long term. Thesis findings suggest that Fordyce program for university students could result in increasing quality of life by effectiveness on optimism and coping strategies.
